‘My BBL Nearly Killed Me’: Woman Warns After Extreme Butt Lift in Mexico
An American influencer has gone viral after revealing the harrowing ordeal she endured following a second Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery in Mexico a procedure she now says nearly took her life.
The Texas-based content creator, known as @TheeHtxHottiee on social media, shared graphic images and a candid video detailing how her quest for a more sculpted body ended in what she describes as a “nightmare.” She initially intended to get a tummy tuck and a BBL, but what followed were complications so severe that she required multiple life-saving interventions.

“My BBL is too big — and it nearly killed me,” she confessed in a widely shared post. “I was in surgery twice as long as I was supposed to be. I lost so much blood that I had to get six blood transfusions.”
After the botched operation, she was forced to undergo five emergency surgeries, including a painful skin graft where doctors removed skin from her thighs to repair damage from the failed tummy tuck.
The influencer said that while her first BBL experience was relatively smooth, this second attempt turned life-threatening. Upon returning to the U.S., she was hospitalized for nearly four months due to a severe bloodstream infection and complications at the surgical site.

“My mother and twin sister thought I was dead because I had been in surgery so long with no word,” she recalled. “When I woke up, they were already driving down to Mexico.”
Her message now is one of caution and clarity. “I wanted to be honest about what happened,” she said. “People don’t always see the dangerous side of these surgeries especially when done abroad.”

The story adds to growing concerns among medical professionals about the risks associated with medical tourism and the increasing popularity of high-risk cosmetic procedures like the BBL, which has one of the highest complication rates in plastic surgery.
