A man has died following a shooting in south London, leading to a murder arrest. Emergency services were dispatched to Willington Road in Clapham shortly before 10:00 PM on Monday after reports of gunfire near The Landor Pub.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 25-year-old man was discovered with injuries and declared dead at the site. Shortly thereafter, a 22-year-old man arrived at a hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder and is currently receiving medical treatment. Authorities are monitoring his status.
Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond expressed sympathy for the victim’s family and noted that residents can expect an increased police presence while investigations proceed. Officials are urging any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
