Taraba Mobile Court Seizes Vehicle Transporting Illicit Minerals

The Taraba State mobile court has impounded a vehicle carrying illegal minerals, signaling a strict enforcement of environmental laws and Executive Order No. 5 of 2023.

A Toyota Yaris was confiscated by the Taraba State mobile court dedicated to environmental protection and public safety. Authorities stopped the vehicle during a Friday morning patrol near the Dakka area of the Bali local government region, discovering that it was loaded with illegally sourced minerals identified as monoxide. This action was taken under the authority of Executive Order No. 5 of 2023.

Both the car and the minerals remain in official custody as the state prepares for legal action. The presiding court issued a stern warning to drivers and transporters, making it clear that anyone participating in the illegal mining supply chain will face immediate arrest and prosecution.

State officials emphasized that their commitment to preserving natural resources and enforcing environmental safety regulations remains firm. Ongoing patrols are planned across the state to identify and stop unauthorized mining and other activities that threaten public health or the environment.
