Former England goalkeeper Mary Earps has signed a two-year deal with the London City Lionesses following her departure from Paris St-Germain. The 33-year-old moves back to English football after spending two seasons in France, where she made 22 appearances and secured 12 clean sheets.
Earps expressed enthusiasm regarding the club’s vision, noting that the values held by owner Michele Kang and the team’s professional ambitions were key factors in her decision. She emphasized the importance of the club’s investment in new infrastructure, such as upcoming training facilities, as a sign of their commitment to competitive growth.
A decorated veteran, Earps holds two FIFA Best Goalkeeper of the Year titles and played a vital role in England’s Euro 2022 success. Her career includes a significant five-year tenure at Manchester United, where she made over 100 appearances and won the Women’s FA Cup in 2024. Following her international retirement in 2025, she remains one of the sport’s most recognizable figures.
London City Lionesses are currently pursuing a high-profile recruitment strategy under the ownership of Michele Kang. In addition to securing Earps, the club is linked with Spain defender Mapi Leon and is in negotiations with Alexia Putellas. After finishing sixth in their 2025-26 debut WSL season, the club aims to climb the standings by integrating experienced stars with young talent, targeting up to seven new signings this summer.
