England defender Lucy Bronze has committed her future to Chelsea, signing a contract extension that keeps her with the club until 2027. Since transferring from Barcelona ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, the veteran player has been a vital contributor under manager Sonia Bompastor. During her time at Chelsea, she has logged 56 appearances, netted five goals, and contributed to four trophy wins.

Reflecting on the decision, Bronze expressed her excitement about the club’s direction, particularly with the team’s transition to playing at Stamford Bridge. She noted that staying with the club felt like the correct career move after two successful years back in English football. A mainstay for the national team since her 2013 debut, Bronze has earned 148 caps for England and secured 22 goals. Her decorated career includes pivotal roles in the squads that triumphed at both Euro 2022 and Euro 2025.
