Lagos Police Adjust Movement Restriction For July 12 LG Elections
The Lagos State Police Command has revised the restriction on movement for Saturday’s July 12, 2025 Local Government elections, adjusting the curfew to 6:00 am – 3:00 pm, instead of the previously announced 3:00 am – 3:00 pm window.
Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin, in a Thursday statement, said the change was made to accommodate residents with medical emergencies and international travel plans.
“To alleviate the problem of residents with critical medical emergencies and appointments, and those with longtime international travel plans… movement restriction is now from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm,” Hundeyin said.
Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh reaffirmed the command’s commitment to a safe, secure, and peaceful electoral process, urging residents to remain alert and report suspicious activity to 08063299264 or 08065154338.
The elections will be conducted across all 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs in Lagos State.
