Lagos INEC to Publish 2027 Election Candidate Credentials

INEC Lagos has scheduled the public display of 2027 election candidates’ credentials for August 1, 2026, inviting public scrutiny of nomination documents.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State is set to begin the public viewing of Form EC9 on Saturday, August 1, 2026. This documentation includes personal records for individuals running in the 2027 presidential, senatorial, and House of Representatives races.

Mrs. Esther Emeh, the state’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity, confirmed the initiative, noting that it fulfills requirements under Section 29 of the 2022 Electoral Act. The materials will be available for review at the INEC state headquarters in Sabo-Yaba and at various local government offices serving the respective constituencies.

Form EC9 holds the credentials, biographical data, and sworn affidavits provided by political party nominees. INEC encourages candidates, political organizations, and the general public to examine these files. If citizens suspect that a candidate has provided misleading or falsified information, they are permitted to pursue legal action as outlined by the Electoral Act. INEC stated that this exercise reflects its dedication to an open, fair, and trustworthy electoral process.
