Lagos Building Collapse: LASEMA Recovers Three Bodies
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) recovered three bodies from a collapsed two-storey building under construction in Ikorodu on Tuesday.
The victims, identified as two adult men and a teenage girl, were part of a construction team working on the ground floor when the structure gave way.
The first body was found shortly after the collapse, while the other two were retrieved after a prolonged search that extended into early Wednesday.
Witnesses said the building collapsed around 2:00 p.m., producing a loud noise that attracted nearby residents and passersby to the site.
Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, confirmed the incident and stated that the recovered bodies have been handed over to the Igbogbo Police Division to aid investigations into the cause of the collapse.
