Lagos State police officers have taken 27-year-old Yusuf Lamina Adigun into custody after discovering a homemade pistol and a live cartridge in his possession. The arrest occurred in the Ijaiye/Ojokoro district during a standard police inspection of a motorcycle carrying three individuals.
Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi confirmed the event in a recent press release. During initial questioning, Adigun admitted his affiliation with the Eiye Confraternity. He further stated that he and several unidentified associates were en route to execute an attack against specific targets when officers stopped them.
While Adigun is currently held by police, authorities are actively searching for his accomplices and any additional weapons. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, noted that the command remains dedicated to proactive, intelligence-based operations to dismantle criminal networks. He encouraged local citizens to stay alert and share any pertinent information to help maintain security throughout the state.
