The Lagos State Police Command apprehended 147 individuals suspected of criminal activities during a broad law enforcement initiative designed to boost safety throughout the region. According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, these detentions occurred during the third phase of the boundary sweep mission known as Operation Ko Si Aye, which began early Saturday morning.
Deputy Commissioner of Police for Operations, Lawal Adeshina, spearheaded the efforts, which saw units conducting simultaneous raids across various parts of the state. The operation, starting at 6:00 a.m., represents a continued push by the police to clear communities of criminal influence. Law enforcement officials confirmed that during the sweeps, they seized various items suspected of being involved in illicit activities.
All 147 suspects are currently held in police custody. Authorities are in the process of profiling these individuals as they continue their inquiries. The police indicated that legal charges will be filed against the suspects once the investigation phase is complete.
