King Sunny Ade’s Daughter Accuses Brother Of Abducting Their Father, Forcing Him To Work Under Duress
Damilola Adegeye, one of the daughters of legendary juju musician King Sunny Ade, has accused her step-brother, Dayo, of allegedly holding their 78-year-old father against his will.
In a series of posts on her Instastory, Damilola claimed that Dayo—whom she identified as the singer’s manager—along with his mother, brothers, and the family driver, is involved in what she described as a “kidnap” of their father.
She alleged that no one in the family has been able to contact King Sunny Ade and that his whereabouts remain unknown. According to her, the veteran musician has not returned home in a while, and all efforts to reach him have failed.
Damilola further accused Dayo of concealing information and misleading the family by claiming that everyone knows the artist’s location.
“….This has shown me who they are, and these are the ones that my dad is around. But no one knows his whereabouts in the family and everyone is looking for him, yet these guys are not telling us where he is but say everyone knows.
Hmmm, very funny. Come read this with me. Real stuff is coming out now!”
Damilola, who resides in the United Kingdom, further alleged that King Sunny Ade is being forced to work under duress by his manager. She claimed that although the veteran singer continues to perform, the family has not seen any financial benefit from his engagements.
She appealed to Dayo to “allow him rest,” stressing that at 78, her father deserves peace and proper care. Damilola also called on the Nigerian police for intervention and urged the public not to book the musician for any events at this time.
“King Sunny Ade, my dad, has been kidnapped and is working under duress. Emergency! Bro D, stop booking the shows and let him rest, so he can take care of his family. He keeps working, but the family is not seeing the money! I need the Nigerian police. My dad, King Sunny Ade, has been kidnapped. Please don’t book him now. He is working under duress!”
Dayo is yet to respond to her allegations.
