The Kebbi State Government has expressed apprehension regarding a potential surge in fabricated reports and misleading information, which it claims is being coordinated by political rivals in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
Yakubu Ahmed, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, addressed this issue during a strategy session with the 23 New Media aides serving Governor Nasir Idris in Zuru. He asserted that certain opposition members are utilizing fear and intentional falsehoods as strategic political weapons for the upcoming cycle.
Ahmed directed the media team to maintain high standards of professionalism and stay alert in order to debunk untrue stories while clearly articulating the administration’s ongoing initiatives and policies.
This meeting serves as the inaugural stop of a regional advocacy tour. Future sessions are planned for Yauri, Argungu, and Birnin Kebbi. The primary goal of these engagements is to refine the state’s communication efforts and prepare the digital team to react quickly to inaccuracies as the election season approaches.
