Katsina Village Head Arrested For Allegedly Aiding Bandits

Security operatives have detained the Village Head of Sukutum in Kankiya Local Government Area, Katsina State, over allegations of acting as an informant for armed bandits.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the unnamed traditional ruler was arrested after intelligence reports linked him to criminal groups active in the region.

Security sources alleged that he provided bandits with details on the movement of security forces and information about vulnerable communities, enabling targeted attacks. They further claimed he made regular visits to the bandits’ hideouts to maintain contact and coordinate operations.

Authorities confirmed the suspect is in custody and under investigation to assess his level of involvement and uncover any potential accomplices.
