The Hisbah Board’s Information Officer, Abdul Baki Mustapha, confirmed the action in a statement on Sunday, December 14, 2025. The destruction was supervised by DC Bashir Lawal Balarabe and other Hisbah commanders from the Funtua zone.
A total of 75 cartons of assorted alcoholic drinks and three jerrycans of Gogoro (a local wine) were seized and subsequently destroyed. The Hisbah Board justified the operation as part of its mandate to curb practices that violate Islamic teachings and to safeguard the moral values of the community.
