Iwerekun Community Senior High School Secures Third Straight Tolaram Science Challenge Victory

Iwerekun Community Senior High School won the 10th annual Tolaram Science Challenge, marking their third consecutive title in the Ibeju-Lekki academic competition.

For the third year running, Iwerekun Community Senior High School in Ibeju-Lekki has claimed the championship title at the 10th Tolaram Science Challenge (TSC). The school secured the win after a difficult final round against Magbon-Alade Senior Grammar School.

Supported by the Lagos Free Zone, the annual competition gathers students from 16 secondary schools in the Ibeju-Lekki region to test their expertise in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and General Knowledge. Ibeju Senior High School and Community Senior High School, both in Lekki, rounded out the top four positions. Additionally, Nyong Jebson, Adekunle Ephraim, and Ashikodi Chukwu were recognized for their top individual performances and received cash prizes.

Adesuwa Ladoja, CEO of Lagos Free Zone, represented by Binay Saraf, highlighted the competition’s growth over the last decade as a cornerstone of the company’s community outreach. She emphasized that the goal is to inspire future leaders by fostering curiosity and critical thinking. Vishal Shah, the Chief Sustainability Officer, added that the program significantly improves educational standards in the area and helps students perform better in standardized exams.

Olakunle Fadumiye, the competition’s creator, noted that the initiative aims to empower students to serve as ambassadors of academic excellence within their respective schools.
