Ita Enang has formally commenced his tenure as Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany following the presentation of his Letters of Credence to President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The ceremony was held at the German Presidency in Berlin this past Friday.
Proceedings began with a traditional military parade. This was followed by the formal signing of the accreditation register and the official handover of diplomatic credentials to President Steinmeier. Following the ceremony, the two representatives engaged in a bilateral discussion regarding shared national interests.
During the meeting, President Steinmeier extended his best wishes to President Bola Tinubu, noting the enduring positive relationship between their nations. The discussion highlighted opportunities for partnership in sectors such as industrial growth, food security, agriculture, and technology.
Ambassador Enang specifically encouraged German firms to invest in Nigerian automobile assembly facilities. He stated that such partnerships would bolster local manufacturing capabilities, facilitate the transfer of technical expertise, and create significant employment opportunities for Nigerians.
