Iran Issues Warning to US Following Trump Strike Threat

Iran has responded to President Donald Trump’s threat of military action by warning the US to be cautious while both countries engage in delicate negotiations in Switzerland.

Iranian officials have delivered a sharp warning to the United States in response to President Donald Trump’s threat to launch strikes against the nation due to its backing of Hezbollah. This confrontation unfolds while both nations engage in discussions in Switzerland, aiming to secure an agreement that would conclude the conflict in the Middle East.

These diplomatic efforts are intended to launch a 60-day timeframe to resolve long-standing disputes that have strained US-Iranian relations for years. Yet, persistent friction regarding major issues and the looming possibility of escalated violence in Lebanon have complicated the process, leading to a climate where negotiations are shadowed by mutual threats.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran’s lead negotiator, cautioned the United States to exercise restraint in their rhetoric, emphasizing that Iran’s military is prepared for a robust response. He stated that while others engage in verbal posturing, Iran focuses on concrete actions. This follows President Trump’s ultimatum demanding that Iran halt the activities of its proxies in Lebanon, with the President suggesting military action if those conditions remain unmet.
