Ipswich Town has secured Serbian midfielder Sasa Lukic from Fulham for a fee that remains undisclosed. The 29-year-old, who participated in 26 Premier League matches during the previous campaign, has committed to a contract running through 2030. Lukic expressed excitement about joining the club and playing as a home representative at Portman Road, a venue where he previously enjoyed the energetic atmosphere.
This move follows the earlier transfer of Moroccan defender Issa Diop from the same club to the Suffolk side. Lukic, who joined Fulham from Torino in early 2023, finished his tenure there with 106 appearances. Internationally, he has earned 62 caps for Serbia, including appearances at the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 European Championship.
Manager Gary O’Neil praised the arrival, noting that Lukic provides significant experience to the team. O’Neil highlighted the player’s nearly 100 Premier League matches and his consistent performance history as key assets. During his seven-season stint at Italian club Torino, Lukic made 168 appearances and netted 14 goals.
