Ibrahim Olarewaju dismisses claims of breaching regulations during APC primary

Ibrahim Olarewaju has denied allegations that he failed to resign from his presidential aide position before competing in the APC primary for the Ekiti North Federal Constituency II.

Ibrahim Olarewaju, the former Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu regarding National Assembly affairs, has refuted assertions that he breached protocols by remaining in his post while seeking the All Progressives Congress ticket for the Ekiti North Federal Constituency II.

His media team released a statement on Wednesday attributing his electoral victory to his long-standing dedication to local constituents. The office insisted that the party primary was a fair and democratic event that adhered to all internal regulations. According to the release, Olarewaju satisfied every legal and constitutional obligation before participating in the contest.

The statement specifically noted that he stepped down from his presidential role on March 31, 2026, satisfying the mandatory requirement for government officials aiming to run for office. Consequently, his camp labeled the claims of misconduct as inaccurate, asserting that repetitive allegations lack any factual basis.
