Harry Kane Believes England Can Find Another Gear

England captain Harry Kane insists the national team has more to offer as they prepare to face Argentina in the World Cup semi-finals.

England prepares for a pivotal World Cup semi-final showdown against Argentina this Wednesday in Atlanta. A victory would secure their place in Sunday’s final against either France or Spain. Captain Harry Kane expressed confidence that the Three Lions still have untapped potential as they pursue the country’s first world title since 1966.

The team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Norway in extra-time on Saturday, but manager Thomas Tuchel expressed dissatisfaction with the performance. Tuchel criticized the squad for technical errors and a lack of pace, stating they were fortunate to advance. Kane, currently tied with Jude Bellingham as the team’s top scorer with six goals, acknowledged that the manager is pushing them to reach the high standards they demonstrate during training sessions.

While Kane agreed that the team has not yet played at their peak, he noted that the group has shown flashes of brilliance throughout the tournament. Bellingham, however, offered a differing perspective, highlighting the extreme difficulty of facing a talented Norwegian side and emphasizing the immense physical toll on the players. As England approaches their fourth-ever World Cup semi-final, Kane remains focused on completing the journey. Having reached several late-stage tournament matches in recent years, he emphasized that the squad is determined to finally secure a major trophy during this final week of competition.
