Gunmen Kill Five Inside Nasarawa Mosque
Gunmen have shot d*ad five people sleeping inside a mosque in the Katakpa community in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
A resident, Ibrahim Yakubu, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust yesterday said the attack happened on Wednesday around 2am on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
He said the shooting attracted some soldiers who mobilised, engaged the gunmen and k!lled several of them.
Yakubu further said the gunmen parked their motorcycles in the bush before trekking into the community.
It was gathered that the five victims were people who were displaced as a result of attacks in neighbouring communities.
The Chairman of Toto LGA, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, confirmed the attack.
In a similar development, gunmen suspected to be bandits have k!lled a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, in Toto LGA.
The vigilante member identified as Aminu Adamu, (pictured) was shot d*ad on his duty post along Toto-Abaji road on Thursday, July 25.
A youth leader, Dubagari, who confirmed the incident said one other person sustained injuries during the attack and was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.
