Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to champion national unity through the promotion of peace and mutual respect. Speaking during the conclusion of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation at Issele-Uku, the governor—represented by Secretary to the State Government Kingsley Emu—emphasized that Nigeria’s diversity is a significant asset.
Oborevwori urged the corps members to prioritize their safety, remain law-abiding, and show dedication at their places of primary assignment. He highlighted the importance of contributing to host communities, suggesting that members leverage the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development program to foster self-reliance. The governor stressed that the youth’s energy and creativity are vital for the nation’s progress.
NYSC State Coordinator, John Kwaghe, echoed these sentiments, advising the participants to respect local customs and act with integrity. He reminded them that their service year is a unique responsibility that should leave a tangible impact on the lives of local residents. Kwaghe also lauded the governor for his support of the scheme while requesting further assistance to address the remaining infrastructure needs at the orientation camp to improve future operations.
