Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has selected Boss Mustapha, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund. This decision was formally announced on Tuesday by Humwashi Wonosikou, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
The appointment is designed to boost Adamawa’s involvement in regional initiatives aimed at addressing the escalating security crisis throughout Northern Nigeria. Governor Fintiri noted that this move highlights his government’s dedication to improving security cooperation and ensuring that the state plays a meaningful role in regional strategies to protect citizens.
The Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund was created by the Northern Governors’ Forum to assist security services via intelligence gathering, logistical support, and interstate coordination across all 19 northern states. Governor Fintiri praised Mustapha for his extensive public service background, suggesting that his leadership skills are ideal for the position. The governor also acknowledged the urgent need for action regarding ongoing regional threats such as terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and communal unrest.
