Abia State Governor Alex Otti has authorized the initial installment of medical payments for veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu. The 62-year-old performer, who hails from Abia, recently reached out to the public for financial aid as she faces a series of three operations requiring a total of ₦30 million.
Martins Okey Justice, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism and Entertainment, confirmed the development via a post on X. He praised Governor Otti for his prompt attention to the actress’s plight. Justice noted that while this contribution is a vital step, it represents only a portion of the total costs needed for her recovery.
The government official urged citizens to continue offering financial help to Nwosu. Representing the creative arts community, Justice extended his gratitude to the governor for this act of support, which has been welcomed by colleagues in the entertainment industry.
