Goodluck Jonathan Receives Jigon Bauchi Chieftaincy Title

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has been conferred the title of Jigon Bauchi by the Bauchi Emirate Council in recognition of his contributions to Nigeria’s democracy and peace.

The Bauchi Emirate Council officially installed former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan as the Jigon Bauchi this Tuesday. This honor was bestowed upon him to acknowledge his significant efforts in fostering democracy, national harmony, and peace throughout the country.

Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, led the vibrant turbaning event at his palace. Governor Bala Mohammed attended alongside several political figures and state officials to witness the formal investiture. During his speech, Governor Mohammed praised the Emir for the recognition, noting that Jonathan’s commitment to stability and democratic principles has garnered him widespread respect across various regions.

In response, Jonathan conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Emir and the residents of Bauchi State. He pledged to uphold the traditions of the Emirate Council and cherish the new title. The Emir highlighted that Jonathan remains a model leader, citing his public service and dedication to peace as the primary reasons for the conferment. The ceremony was well-attended by traditional leaders, dignitaries, and guests from across the nation.
