Georgia Hunter Bell secures another 1500m victory at Paris Diamond League

Georgia Hunter Bell claimed her second Diamond League victory of the year in Paris with a season-best performance in the 1500m.

British runner Georgia Hunter Bell achieved her second Diamond League win of the current season in Paris, recording her best time of the year in the women’s 1500m. The Olympic bronze medalist finished with a time of three minutes and 55.63 seconds, narrowly defeating Freweyni Hailu of Ethiopia and Agathe Guillemot of France.

This performance follows Hunter Bell’s victory in Rome last month. Now 32, she has successfully transitioned back to the 1500m distance after competing in the 800m. This result builds momentum for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the European Championships in Birmingham.

Elsewhere at Stade Charlety, Canadian runner Marco Arop set a yearly record in the men’s 800m with a time of 1:41.84, while Matthew Hudson-Smith finished fourth in the 400m race. Due to high heat, the meet operated under a modified schedule that limited participation to professional athletes only.

In the pole vault, Armand Duplantis reclaimed his winning form by clearing 6.13m, a new meet record. This victory was a notable recovery for the Swede following an unexpected loss in Stockholm earlier this month. Audrey Werro of Switzerland also shined, setting a new meet record in the women’s 800m with a time of 1:53.80, while Trayvon Bromell outperformed Noah Lyles to win the men’s 100m sprint.
