Management at the Federal University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Akure, has rejected claims of misconduct regarding the transition of employees into the federal system. Tope Fayehun, the institution’s spokesperson, labeled recent statements from Ondo State labor unions as incorrect and intended to provoke instability.
The hospital maintains that it has strictly adhered to the Memorandum of Understanding governing the change from state to federal oversight. Officials have requested that union leaders present actual proof of any contract violations, asserting that the current accusations lack a factual basis.
Furthermore, the hospital refuted reports of unfair staffing practices or unauthorized entries into the federal payroll database. According to management, the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System process followed all official government protocols. The administration warned that recent disruptions to medical services by labor groups could pose significant risks to patient safety and urged a return to professional dialogue.
Leadership at the facility suggested that outside political motives might be influencing the union’s confrontational approach. The hospital remains committed to working with federal agencies to ensure a transparent integration process and confirmed that all healthcare services continue to function normally.
