FRSC Warns Drivers Against One-Way Traffic Amid Heavy Rain

The FRSC has issued a stern warning to motorists on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, advising against one-way driving during flooding caused by heavy rainfall.

The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has urged commuters to remain patient and avoid traveling against the flow of traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Sector Commander Oludare Ogunjobi issued this warning during a Tuesday interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Ota.

Ogunjobi explained that heavy rainfall earlier that day flooded sections of the road, prompting some motorists to drive in the wrong direction, which subsequently triggered significant traffic jams. He emphasized that rushing and disregarding road regulations only exacerbates existing travel delays.

To address the situation, the FRSC has deployed personnel alongside other traffic management teams to the expressway to streamline vehicle flow and stabilize conditions. The downpour resulted in many travelers being stuck on the highway for several hours.
