Following the fatal stabbing of 24-year-old Arad Niakan in De Montfort Place on Wednesday, authorities have charged four men with murder. Leicestershire Police identified the accused as 21-year-old Talha Satar, 20-year-old Said Mahamed, 19-year-old Husni Benramadan, and 18-year-old Yousouf Khan. In addition to the murder charges, each of the four faces counts of possessing an imitation firearm for criminal intent and carrying a bladed weapon in public.
A fifth suspect, 21-year-old Kassam Tarmahoomed, has been charged with assisting an offender. All five men are expected to appear before the Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Meanwhile, police have released four other individuals—two men and two women—on bail as the inquiry continues. A 33-year-old man previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been cleared of the charges with no further action taken against him.
