Augustine Oloruntogbe, the former chairman of the Akoko South West Local Government Area, has turned down an appointment from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. He was recently selected to serve on the Ondo State Cocoa Revolution and Management Board, an initiative intended to boost the local agricultural sector.
In a formal letter to the governor, Oloruntogbe explained that existing personal and professional obligations prevent him from dedicating the necessary time to the role. Despite his refusal, he used the communication to highlight serious concerns regarding the treatment of local cocoa farmers.
He reported allegations that farmers operating within the Ose Game Reserve are being pressured to pay N150,000 each into a private account without receiving official documentation or receipts. Oloruntogbe has requested that the state administration investigate these claims to ensure financial transparency and protect the integrity of the governor’s agricultural reform agenda.
