Babafemi Ojudu, an All Progressives Congress chieftain and former presidential media assistant, has voiced concern over the National Association of Nigerian Students’ failure to address the widespread kidnapping of students. Through a post on his Facebook profile, Ojudu expressed dismay that the student body has offered no response as bandits continue to target educational institutions.
He questioned the current status of the association, asking what became of the group once known as the moral compass for Nigerian scholars. Ojudu highlighted how disconnected the leadership appears to be from the primary concerns of the students they serve. He emphasized that the collective silence regarding these significant security threats is deeply alarming.
The former aide pondered who would defend the future if the student body refuses to advocate for itself. By comparing the situation to India, where students actively protest issues like joblessness and academic integrity, Ojudu criticized the lack of engagement from Nigerian students regarding the country’s ongoing economic and security difficulties.
