Florida Legislator Accuses Nigerian Defense Minister of Bribery Attempt

Florida State Representative Kimberly Daniels has accused Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defense, Bello Matawalle, of trying to bribe an American official.

According to Daniels, the alleged payment was an effort to suppress information regarding a report by the United World Congress of Diplomats (UN-WCD) concerning the targeting of Christians in Nigeria.

In a video posted to her Facebook profile on Monday, Daniels stated that Matawalle sought to alter the public perception of the UN-WCD document, which reportedly implicated him in the ongoing violence.

The representative, who leads the UN-WCD, declared that such intimidation tactics would not deter her from speaking out against the killings occurring in regions like Plateau, Benue, and Kaduna.

Previously, Daniels formally requested that President Bola Tinubu dismiss the minister due to his alleged involvement in the regional security crisis. As of now, Matawalle has not provided a formal response to these accusations.
