Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly standing in the way of the club’s attempt to acquire Manchester City midfielder Rodri during the current summer transfer window. Although the Spanish international is eager for a homecoming, having previously featured for Atletico Madrid, Perez remains opposed to the transfer.
This development comes as Jose Mourinho prepares to lead the team through preseason sessions. Meanwhile, Manchester City has offered the midfielder an extension on his existing contract, which is set to conclude after the upcoming season.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano stated on X that while Rodri has long held an ambition to return to Spain and join Real Madrid, Perez has consistently refused to engage in any formal discussions regarding the player this year.
