FirstHoldCo Plc achieved significant financial growth during the first half of 2026, ending June 30th with a profit before tax of N653.5 billion. This marks an 83.5% increase compared to the N356.15 billion reported during the same period in 2024. The firm’s gross earnings climbed 16.7% to N1.93 trillion, while operating income saw a rise of 25.8% to reach N1.38 trillion. According to filings submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited, non-interest income also climbed to N497.1 billion.
These figures highlight the group’s market strength and the positive impact of its recent strategic initiatives. The company transitioned from a phase of recovery into a period of disciplined expansion and efficiency. Operational improvements are evident in the cost-to-income ratio, which tightened to 44.2% from 50.5% in the previous year, supported by investments in technology and productivity.
Risk management remains a priority for the firm, as evidenced by a 37.4% reduction in impairment charges and N91.9 billion in loan recoveries. Group Managing Director Wale Oyedeji noted that the results validate the company’s efforts to rebuild its balance sheet, improve asset quality, and ensure long-term stability. The current performance serves as a foundation for sustained value creation.
