Federal authorities resolve Nigerian passport renewal backlog for citizen

The federal government has intervened to resolve a delayed passport renewal case for a Nigerian citizen, drawing praise for the efficiency of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.

The federal government announced on Saturday that it successfully processed a passport renewal for a Nigerian citizen following significant administrative delays. This update was officially released by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

The action followed a viral social media account from a woman identified as EoNI, who publicly detailed her frustrations with the Nigerian Immigration Service regarding her stalled application. After government officials intervened in the matter, the applicant confirmed that she received her updated passport. In her widely shared Instagram post, she celebrated the result, declaring that the system can indeed function effectively.

Princess Zahrah Audu, the Director General of PEBEC, stated that this outcome reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to supporting Nigerians residing in foreign countries.
