Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has vowed to ensure Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State faces significant political consequences during the 2027 election cycle. Speaking during a broadcast on Channels Television, Fayose characterized the governor’s actions as a betrayal of trust.
Fayose accused Makinde of undermining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) within the South West region and dismantling his political infrastructure. He stated that while the governor has the right to seek the presidency, his perceived lack of fairness has strained their relationship. Fayose emphasized that he is not a figure to be ignored, warning that those who disregard his influence will face the repercussions of his political opposition.
Using a metaphorical warning, Fayose claimed that the governor had encroached upon sacred territory and suggested that these metaphorical entities would eventually reclaim what is theirs. He concluded by asserting that the upcoming elections will provide the necessary platform to settle these political grievances.
