Everton has finalized the signing of Denmark international Christian Norgaard from Arsenal. The 32-year-old midfielder joins on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee, which is widely reported to be around £7 million. Norgaard, who moved to Arsenal from Brentford just last year for £15 million, saw limited action last season, making only seven Premier League appearances as the club secured the title.
The move is part of an active transfer window for Everton manager David Moyes, who is bolstering his squad following the exits of veteran players Seamus Coleman and Idrissa Gueye. Alongside Norgaard, Everton has invested in Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney for £16.5 million and 20-year-old winger Tyrique George, who joins from Chelsea for £18 million. These additions are vital as the club manages the injury absence of James Garner, who recently underwent groin surgery.
Norgaard brings significant experience to Goodison Park, having previously served as captain during a six-year tenure at Brentford where he played 196 matches. Everton will kick off their new Premier League campaign on Saturday, August 22, hosting Crystal Palace at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
