Emmanuel Airoboma Signs First Professional Deal With Liverpool
England-born Nigerian defender Emmanuel Airoboma has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, the Premier League champions announced on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old, who joined the club’s Academy at the U12 level, is primarily a centre-back but can also play at right-back.
Airoboma was a key player for Liverpool’s U18s last season and has now stepped up to Rob Page’s U21 squad. He made his Premier League 2 debut on August 25 as a substitute in a 3-2 loss to Burnley and was also named on the bench for the EFL Trophy clash against Burton Albion.
Before his promotion, Airoboma featured in 22 U18 Premier League matches, impressing coaches with his consistency and potential — performances that led to his first professional deal.
