The Department of Economy and Tourism launched the initiative, titled A Dubai Invite, to encourage locals to act as city ambassadors. This program remains active through the end of October.
Participants can register their guests on the official government website to access perks valued at roughly 3,000 AED, which include vouchers for dining, hotel accommodations, and local attractions. The move comes as the region attempts to revitalize a tourism sector struggling under the weight of regional instability. While Dubai typically thrives as a global travel destination, recent geopolitical tensions and conflicts have weakened visitor confidence.
To combat the downturn, the local government has previously implemented economic packages exceeding $400 million, offering fee exemptions and reduced costs for businesses impacted by regional conflict. With summer being a typically slow season due to extreme heat, officials hope these incentives will bolster the hospitality industry as it looks to recover from recent disruptions.
