Di Canio Slams Atalanta’s €50m Price Tag For Lookman, Criticises Player’s Conduct Amid Inter Talks

Former Italy international Paolo Di Canio has criticized Atalanta’s €50m valuation of Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman amid transfer talks with Inter Milan.

Lookman has already agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri and is pushing for a move to the San Siro. Inter’s initial €40m bid was rejected, and a follow-up offer of €42m plus €3m in bonuses was also deemed insufficient. Atalanta have maintained that they want the full €50m, whether paid outright or met through performance-related add-ons.

Speaking to Corriere Della Sera, Di Canio argued that the price tag is excessive.

“In the Premier League, they don’t even really know who Lookman is,” he said. “Asking €50 million for him is over the top. But Atalanta are just doing their job.

“The player, on the other hand, is behaving badly. You have to train with your team even if you want to leave. Show some integrity and be professional. The Percassi family have done very well so far not to give in to his show of force.”
