British MMA fighter Dakota Ditcheva has been left devastated after breaking both hands during her recent win against Denise Kielholtz at PFL New York. Despite securing a unanimous decision, the 28-year-old revealed she competed through the pain, hiding the extent of her injuries from her corner until the match concluded.
This setback comes shortly after Ditcheva returned to the cage following an extended layoff since July 2025. She noted that one hand injury stems from a previously unoperated fracture that failed to hold up under the pressure of competition, while the other hand suffered a minor break. Ditcheva expressed significant frustration, stating she has been crying frequently since the event.
Known for her stellar 16-fight unbeaten streak and her 2024 PFL flyweight title win, the athlete remains optimistic. While she faces another period in splints and potential surgery, Ditcheva is determined to recover faster than she did during her previous hiatus, insisting that her professional fighting career is far from over.
