Conor McMenamin has finalized a permanent transfer to the Irish Premiership, returning home to join Coleraine on a long-term agreement after departing St Mirren. The 30-year-old Northern Ireland international, who moved to Scotland from Glentoran in 2023, played a pivotal role in his previous club’s League Cup victory against Celtic last season.
McMenamin, who has earned 14 caps for his country and scored against San Marino, brings a wealth of experience to the Showgrounds. His career has included stints at Linfield, Warrenpoint Town, Cliftonville, and a productive spell at Glentoran where he scored 33 goals in 66 matches. Coleraine manager Ruaidhri Higgins highlighted that the winger is eager for success and adds significant quality to a squad already featuring goal-scorers Matthew Shevlin and Joel Cooper.
The move follows a challenging period for McMenamin at St Mirren, where he saw his playing time diminish following the departure of manager Stephen Robinson. With this transfer, Coleraine signals its serious intent to challenge for the Irish Premiership title after a strong performance last campaign. McMenamin is the club’s second major summer arrival, joining Ben Doherty as a key addition to the team.
