Former England international Chris Waddle has suggested that Bradley Barcola should prefer Liverpool as his next destination instead of Arsenal. Waddle believes the PSG forward would be better suited to the management style of Andoni Iraola at Liverpool compared to the tactical constraints of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
Speaking to Tribal Football, Waddle emphasized that Barcola requires the freedom to play his natural game, which he argues would be restricted by Arteta’s focus on ball retention. According to Waddle, Arteta might overly worry about the player losing possession, potentially reducing his impact by as much as 75%. Conversely, he believes Iraola would empower Barcola to attack defenders and create chances.
Barcola is reportedly looking to exit the Ligue 1 club in search of more consistent playing time. Both Premier League sides are currently competing for his signature, with a potential transfer fee reaching €140 million.
