Chijioke Ihunwo Aligns with Fubara to Support Rainbow Coalition and Tinubu for 2027

Chijioke Ihunwo, an ally of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, has pledged to support the Rainbow Coalition and President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid in 2027.

Chijioke Ihunwo, a former head of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area caretaker committee in Rivers State, has committed to supporting the Rainbow Coalition and President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 election cycle. Ihunwo, a close associate of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, stated that this pivot follows the governor’s recent appeals for regional unity and reconciliation.

During an appearance on the television program Beyond the Headlines, Ihunwo explained that his actions are a direct response to the governor’s directive. The Rainbow Coalition is a political movement currently led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. Ihunwo emphasized that he acts in accordance with his principal, Governor Fubara, noting that their shared goal is to stabilize the state.

Ihunwo remarked that the governor has instructed his political base to rally behind President Tinubu and the various candidates associated with the coalition. To prepare for the 2027 polls, Ihunwo intends to return to Obio/Akpor to begin organizing voter support for the group’s agenda.
