Chelsea Alerts Police Over Missing £30,000 Training Equipment

Chelsea Football Club has contacted police following the disappearance of high-tech camera equipment valued at £30,000 from its Cobham training facility.

As reported by The Sun, Surrey Police were notified about the missing equipment, which vanished from the club’s headquarters. While it’s currently unclear if the gear was merely misplaced, the circumstances raised enough concern for police involvement.

The club’s first-team squad had just returned to Cobham earlier this week in preparation for the upcoming Premier League season. The missing items were reportedly noticed around that time.

Although there is a possibility the equipment was unintentionally lost and might be recovered once staff members return from their summer leave, the club proceeded to involve authorities due to the suspicious nature of the incident.

Like many top-tier football teams, Chelsea utilizes advanced camera technology to support training sessions and create content for social media. Video recordings from practices and matches are essential tools for analyzing and enhancing players’ tactical awareness, fitness, technical skills, and mental preparedness.

Cobham, Chelsea’s state-of-the-art training ground—built at a cost of around £20 million—is located less than 20 miles from Stamford Bridge.
