Social media influencer Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, secured a N20 million bail on Thursday from the Ikeja Special Offences Court. She is currently facing legal proceedings concerning an alleged N69.15 million property scam.
Justice Rahman Oshodi stipulated that the defendant must provide two sureties of equal financial standing. While the prosecution did not challenge the request, the court carefully evaluated the nature of the charges and the potential penalties before granting the bail. The court also factored in details regarding the current status of her travel documents.
As part of the conditions, sureties are required to submit bank records covering three years or documentation of fixed assets valued at N20 million. Furthermore, both the defendant and her sureties must complete a verification process through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System. To prevent her from fleeing, Justice Oshodi ordered the Nigerian Immigration Service to implement travel restrictions for the duration of the trial, which is set to resume on October 12.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) initially charged Blessing CEO on June 9 with two counts of theft and obtaining money under false pretenses. The allegations involve an incident in March 2025 where she reportedly defrauded Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Ltd. by promising a property lease in Lekki. She has entered a plea of not guilty to these accusations, which the EFCC claims violate the Criminal Laws of Lagos State and the Advance Fee Fraud Act.
