Beijing labels Donald Trump’s allegations of Chinese election interference as false

Beijing has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s allegations that China meddled in American elections as baseless fabrications and malicious smears.

On Friday, Chinese officials dismissed recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who accused China of compromising American election data. Trump utilized a White House address on Thursday to repeat unverified claims regarding voter fraud, suggesting the U.S. electoral process remains vulnerable. He further announced plans to declassify intelligence he asserts will prove that China illegally obtained 220 million voter records.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian rejected the accusations during a press briefing, characterizing them as intentional falsehoods and malicious defamation. Lin reiterated that China maintains no interest in the domestic politics of the United States and does not participate in foreign election interference. He pointedly suggested that the global community recognizes which nation typically meddles in the internal affairs of others.

The Chinese government has requested that the U.S. cease utilizing China as a scapegoat for domestic political issues and instead focus on improving bilateral relations. It is worth noting that Trump’s previous assertions that the 2020 election was fraudulent failed to gain traction in court, with over 60 legal challenges and multiple official audits confirming no evidence of systematic wrongdoing.
