Beijing officially denounced new US tariffs applied to China and 59 other nations last week, which were justified by allegations regarding forced labour. Furthermore, China challenged the US on Wednesday, claiming Washington is actively attempting to suppress Chinese enterprises following a ban on imported humanoid and quadruped robots.
During a video conference, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng engaged with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. According to the Xinhua news agency, the discussion was characterized as candid and constructive, focusing on how both nations can maintain stable economic relations and address ongoing disputes. While President Trump previously extended an invitation for President Xi to visit the United States in September during a May trip to Beijing, the visit remains unconfirmed.
