Bauchi Pilgrims Board Prioritizes 2026 Applicants for 2027 Hajj

Intending pilgrims who missed the 2026 Hajj will receive priority for 2027, as the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board begins the new registration period with an initial deposit of N7 million.

The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed that individuals who paid for the 2026 Hajj but could not make the trip will be given first preference for the 2027 pilgrimage. Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, the Executive Secretary, announced this while launching the 2027 registration process at the agency’s headquarters on Monday.

Prospective travelers are required to make an initial deposit of N7 million, though a partial payment of N4 million is acceptable until the official final cost is set. Registration officially opened this week and concludes on September 25, 2026. Looking ahead, visa processing is slated to finish by January 28, 2027, with flights to Saudi Arabia starting on April 8, 2027.

Idris encouraged community leaders and staff to spread the word about these dates to prevent missing deadlines. He also directed applicants to remit funds solely through verified channels such as Jaiz Bank, local government offices, or the main board. Finally, the board warned the public to avoid scams by unauthorized agents, noting that fraudulent actors will be prosecuted. Officials also cautioned that the final price for the 2027 pilgrimage may fluctuate, urging people to wait for formal confirmation.
