Bashir Ahmad Urges Detention of US Missionary Following Criticism of President Tinubu
Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential assistant, has urged security agencies to investigate and take into custody Alex Babir, a missionary from the United States.
This demand follows a video released by Babir in which he criticized President Tinubu’s handling of the ongoing violence in Plateau State.
The controversy was sparked by a recent attack in the Jos North Local Government Area, where gunmen murdered over ten individuals in the Anguwan Rukuba community on March 29. In his broadcast, Babir alleged that the President has failed to address the targeted killing of Christians and the broader security crisis in the country.
In response, Ahmad accused the missionary of traversing the country to promote hostility and provoke conflict among Nigeria’s various ethnic and religious groups.
He insisted that the government must act quickly to hold Babir accountable in order to preserve national stability and public safety.
